This is an AWESOME opportunity for someone looking to buy a Skoolie Conversion, where all the dirty work has been done! We started this conversion in March, but realized with two big dogs, we need a bigger bus!

About the bus:

The bus is a 1987 GMC Vandura 3500 dually. It has the super reliable, super common 350 V8 with 197, XXX miles. The heater blows nice and toasty for when the summer months go away. It has a monstrous roof rack with a ladder to get to it, probably more storage space than you'll ever need. The rear blinkers have been replaced with an expensive set of LEDs. It has a brand new battery. The two front tires are also new. The bus has been very well maintained and all fluids are topped off! This bus is small enough that you can just fit into a normal parking space, but it provides much more living area than a Sprinter van. The front grill and body have just received a new coat of enamel paint.



About the conversion:

We designed the build to be lived in year round. We stripped everything out of the bus to the bare bones, resealed with seam sealer, and coated with an anti-rust primer. The floor was then framed and subfloored in the primary living area, the front drivers area left so access to the engine panel would be a breeze. It also creates a place to kick your dirty shoes off. The bus is fully insulated with 1.5 inch rigid foam core, even beneath the subfloor to maximize coziness when it really counts. We tested our small pellet stove inside and literally had to open every window because it baked us out!

We reinstalled the smallest bus seat available, which has two seat belts, so you can legally and safely travel with passengers. Our bed design has multiple options and purposes. It is designed to be used with a Full Size futon mattress, so when you aren't sleeping in it, it pushes back into a couch to maximize floor space. It is also hinged, and the base lifts up to access storage underneath. If you don't want the Full Size, you only have to slide it out once and it is roughly the size of a twin. Options are good! (Note, we only show it with the bed out in the pictures. When the bed is in, it opens up lots of floor space).

The interior features a long counter with four kitchen / utility drawers, a large cabinet, a storage cubby and a large dresser with 4 drawers. The floor is grey Evoke laminate. The roof has 4 LED lights ready to be tied into the solar system (we went with a warm white, they are super bright and look great). We also installed a dead-bolt on the rear door for security, the drivers door locks like any car door, and the passenger door comes with a unique cable lock that secures it from the inside. All of the windows have blinds and screens for when you want a breeze, but not the bugs.

The bus has a 200-watt Renogy Solar system on it, NEVER used. The two 100-watt panels are already mounted and ready for you to run the wiring to your own battery bank. It comes with a wire pass through to keep the water tight integrity, as well as a Wanderer 30A charge controller. We will even toss in the recommended fuses for the system.

We will include the Solakool fridge/freezer combo which is designed to be used with solar (it's over $500 new). It works great and will allow you to fully boondock and have popsicles and cold beer. The fridge is housed in the end counter behind the driver seat (you lift up the counter when you want access to it).

The bus is very livable, it needs minor things to be fully complete (like interior trim for the laminate edges, a few final panels, etc) - something a trip to lowes or home depot could take care of. We can help with any questions or guidance you might need about the build.

We have a CLEAN title in hand, and no special licenses are required to drive her home. The plates and tags are good until 03/2019.
